Paul A. Alongi is the founding member of Alongi & Associates, LLC in Morris Plains, NJ and Westbury, NY. Mr. Alongi’s practice focuses almost exclusively on representing sureties and contractors in litigation/arbitration, and in pre-litigation claims investigation and evaluation. Prior to forming Alongi & Associates, LLC, Mr. Alongi served as Associate General Counsel to First Indemnity of America Insurance Company for over 10 years. Here, he was responsible for handling complex payment, performance, and subdivision bond claims from the initial investigation to settlement or litigation.


Mr. Alongi is a frequent speaker on surety and construction law topics. He recently co-authored “Top Ten Surety Issues Every Lawyer Needs to Know”. He is active in many professional organizations including DRI, Surety Claims Institute, Surety Underwriters Association of New Jersey, American Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, and the Associated Builders and Contractors. Mr. Alongi is an approved mediator for the Superior Court of New Jersey and he is regularly appointed by the court to serve as the mediator in complex construction and surety matters. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 1988 and received his J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1991.
